Ricardo “Sasquatch” Seixas

Born and raised in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, Ricardo “Sasquatch” Seixas embodies the spirit of dedication and discipline in martial arts. Ricardo began his martial arts journey at the young age of six, training in Brazilian martial arts, Taekwondo, and later expanding into Judo at 12 and Kung Fu at 13. At 14, he found his passion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a discipline that would become a lifelong pursuit. His training didn’t stop there—he added Muay Thai at 15 and wrestling at 16, preparing for a career in MMA.

By 16, Ricardo competed in his first amateur MMA fight, demonstrating his versatility and determination. While focusing on jiu-jitsu competitions, he excelled as a Juvenile Blue Belt Champion and Open Division Purple Belt Champion. His accomplishments also include becoming a Brazilian No-Gi Champion as a purple belt.

At 23, Ricardo earned his black belt under the guidance of Francisco Santana and Celcio Venicius in São Paulo, representing the prestigious Ryan Gracie Team. His black belt reflects years of discipline and countless victories in the competitive jiu-jitsu circuit.

Ricardo moved to the United States at 27, where he furthered his MMA career, competing for notable promotions like LFA and Bellator. With a professional record of 9-4-0, his resume includes six submissions and two knockouts, showcasing his grappling dominance and striking prowess.

Now a dedicated coach and competitor, Ricardo continues to inspire the next generation of martial artists with his wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport. Whether on the mats or in the cage, he exemplifies the dedication and perseverance required to achieve greatness in martial arts.
